Historically, surveying is a very labour intensive and time consuming endeavour because you need to measure every part of whatever it is you are surveying – every nook and cranny. However technology is our friend and the industry is always finding ways to improve accuracy and efficiency.
From the humble (and trusted) tape measure and theodolite through to handheld laser distance measurers and total stations, we have been given the ability to record the physical world around us.
With the use of laser scanners, our surveying capabilities are even wider than before:
Laser scanners are able to measure up to 1 million points per second over distances of 200 metres or more, recording in 3D all the features around it like walls, floors, ceilings, doors, windows and even people – if you stand still long enough.
Any object, rooms, buildings, even cities can be accurately captured in a 3D point cloud, which can then be used as a basis for 3D models, 2D drawings, BIM (building information management), video games and films.
We can provide you with an efficient, impressive and cost effective scanning service.
